Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we went to the pumpking patch at Wesley Memorial. They have been doing the pumpkin patch for as long as I can remember and it makes for great photo ops. We saw a lot of kids and a lot of parents with cameras. In addition to taking some photos, we picked up a few pumpkins. Great times!

More Friday Night Lights

Here are some images from the New Hanover-White Oak game at Legion Stadium. It looked like New Hanover was going to blow this one open early but White Oak came back and made this a game until late in the fourth quarter. New Hanover won the game 34-21. A good bit of trickeration was used in this one including a downfield pass by tight end and NC State verbal #81 George Bryan.

Mondays Downtown, Part II

Well, my Mondays Downtown got rained out so I'll post a few pics left over from the week before. The gothic squared towered church below is St. James Church which was built in in 1839 near the site of the original church which was built in 1751. During the American Revolution, the original church was seized by Cornwallis who removed the pews and converted the church into a stable for the training of Tarleton's dragoons. The current church was seized near the end of the Civil War by the Federal troops and used as a hospital. The statue is in the courtyard of St. James. The bottom photo is of a pretty cool looking bed and breakfast. I think it's somewhere around 3rd and Orange streets.

Sears Craftsman Rocks

Sears Craftsman has got to be one of the best lines of tools around. I was hanging some new 2" blinds at the house and was a bit challenged because of the depth of our windows...I really didn't have much wood with which to work. When I tried to mount the side support brackets, the drill itself bottomed out against the molding. This aggravated me. So I whipped out the Craftsman Flexible Shaft Attachment in the Craftsman 120 pc. Speed-Lokā„¢ Drill/Driver Set, which has been a great Christmans present, and it got the job done! I was able to keep the drill at 90 degrees (and away from the molding) while installing the bracket! Folks, these tools are FOR REAL. Makes me want to go watch an episode of This Old House right now. Right now it does. Check out the photos.

Birthday Pics

Here are a couple of fun pics from my birthday dinner on Wednesday at Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn. Amy (no relation to the burrito barn), you were cut out of one of the photos...sorry! You know, I am pretty lucky to have some great friends. My boy Duane has some of the funniest stories around. Neck box guy? Was that for real? The bottom pic is of me and Donna. Thanks for planning this outing!

Mondays Downtown

I decided from now until Daylight Savings Time ends I'm going to head downtown every Monday evening and shoot. I needed a filler in my schedule for 'after work' and 'before small group' and this will work out nicely. I'm not looking for anything in particular but just plan on walking around and doing some exploring. Both church images below are of First Baptist Church at 5th and Market. I'll post more images from this trip later.
